By M. Rose PelusoHave you ever experience chronic pain? How about Loss? Our feature author has and she wrote a memoir sharing how God has given her grace during those tragic events in her life: Behind the Tapestry is the compelling true story told from behind convent walls, of one woman's struggles to "make peace" with a mysterious chronic illness and her unfulfilled dream of being a Catholic nun. Maryanne was a 29 year old graphic designer working towards a lifelong desire to someday move to Hollywood and become an Academy Award winning art director. But an unexpected invitation to a Catholic prayer meeting would forever change Maryanne's life showing her desires she didn't know she possessed. After being abruptly fired from her job and spending a lot of time in prayer, Maryanne embarked on a journey to discover God's will for her life. This quest eventually led her to the Catholic Convent and the realization that all she's ever really wanted was to devote herself to Jesus. Entering Religious Life was all that Maryanne thought about for more than a year but there was a problem. She found herself plagued by a mysterious condition that caused widespread, chronic pain. However, in spite of this pain, Maryanne joined a group of Franciscan Sisters in 1999. Her life in the Convent was filled with many questions, struggles, challenges and a whole lot of physical pain. Then when already strained relationships with her superiors became even more fractured with the lines of communication practically severed, Sister Maryanne was forced to make a heart-wrenching decision. One that would not only impact her life but the lives of those around her. Should she remain in the Convent and go on to take final vows or leave her Religious Life behind and take care of herself instead? About the AuthorM. About Dalton's Dual BridesA naughty cat…a mixed-up matchmaker…an outlaw’s ghost…and now dueling brides - what’s a cowboy to do? 1870, Wyoming Territory. Dalton Sweetland is one stressed-out cattle rancher. Notorious outlaw Butler Robb was recently caught following a life of crime spent stealing cattle, robbing stagecoaches, and committing murder. Right before being hanged, Robb uttered one final word… “Sweetland.” In the months since, a rumor has popped up in town that the outlaw buried his loot somewhere on Sweetland land. Multiple townsfolk are claiming they’ve seen Robb’s ghost wandering the property, purportedly to recover his lost gold. To make matters worse, Dalton’s ranch hands keep quitting out of fear of being accosted by the apparition, and Dalton himself keeps being accosted by mischievous young ladies wishing to marry him, find the treasure, and get rich quick. After Dalton’s brother suggests hiring a matchmaker to help him find true love, Dalton hopes the end to his problems are finally in sight. Little does he know… 1870, Chicago. Cleo the cat, after enjoying a bit too much catnip, lost her balance while prancing along the high bookshelf where Agatha Sinclair, matchmaker, keeps her files. While skittering down, Cleo’s weight proved too much for the flimsy wood and the structure came toppling over, sending Agatha’s papers flying. Nobody could blame poor Agatha for promptly having an apoplectic fit upon seeing the mess. Now her granddaughter, Maggie, is left with trying to sort out her grandmother’s matches. The files indicate that Dalton Sweetland was matched with a “J. Knight,” but Maggie can’t seem to locate the woman’s address to contact her. Hence, she takes out an ad in the newspaper looking for a marriageable lady named “J. Knight” who wishes to claim her ticket out West to meet her match. Much to Maggie’s distress, not one, but TWO Miss J. Knights come knocking at her door ready to claim the golden ticket. Was Dalton matched with Jessalynn or Jenna? Maggie doesn’t have time to figure this out, so throwing up her hands, she apologizes for the mishap and agrees to foot the bill for both of them to take the stage to Wyoming. My first career was in restaurant management for twenty years then started the second career in manufacturing sales and management for additional twenty years. My third career is that of an author. My stories come to me through dreams at night. These dreams are about people and situations foreign to my existence. Only from God do the stories reach me. Although the dream only last a short period, I know the whole story upon awakening. It is if someone is telling me a story and when they get to the climax that is the dream itself. When important to the story, there are colors and other oddities not normally seen in dreams. It will take about an hour to digest the dream before returning to sleep. I started writing about twenty years ago to improve my writing skills and to rid my mind of the vivid dreams. Occasionally, I would share a short story with a friend and after while they would encourage me to publish as they found them interesting. Thereby stating my third career as a write and author. In my previous careers, there was immediate feedback from my customers. This career does not offer this feedback. Yes, family and friends say they like my writing, but they love me and care about me. It is always good to hear back, favorable or not, about my stories. If you read this far, please review on Goodreads and Amazon for it will help immensely. I would like to use this blog post to promote other authors. My first featured author has a book out called Finding Faith Hope and Love in a Broken World, and we can we use a lot of that. We live in a broken, sin-filled world that desperately needs to know Christ. Our faith, hope, and love of Christ can be a beacon shining in the darkness that guides others safely to shore. Maybe, like me, you are wondering how we can make a difference. Through this book, I hope to show us the importance of sharing our faith during these difficult times. Many people desperately search in all the wrong places to fill the void they feel. As Christians, we have what they seek. Let’s share our confidence with them and change our communities for the better. 1 Corinthians 13:13 “Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love.” Each chapter contains a series of questions to help you personalize the information. If you would like to download the book, click on the image above. And be sure to leave a review if you have enjoyed her book, even if you didn't like it. About the Author
